This $1,000 memorial scholarship was created to honor the legacy, compassion, and dedication of our beloved colleague and friend, Rebecca Coker (1974–2025) who lost her life to an Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA) disorder.

Eligibility Requirements

This scholarship is offered to students pursuing an Associate of Applied Science Degree at the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service that have completed one full quarter of specialized courses.

To receive this gift, you must:

  • Maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA
  • Be compassionate, professional, and committed to funeral service
  • Submit a Letter of Recommendation
  • Submit a Letter of Good Standing
  • Submit a short essay (500 words or fewer) answering the following prompt: "Describe your calling to the funeral service profession and share how you hope to serve families in a way that honors the compassion, professionalism, and dedication that Becca demonstrated throughout her career."

Applications open April 1 - May 15, 2027

Eickenhorst Funeral Services is honored to announce the establishment of the Rebecca Lynn Coker Memorial Scholarship, created to celebrate the life, legacy, and compassion of our beloved colleague and friend, Rebecca Coker (1974–2025). 


Rebecca graduated from the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in 2019 with her Associate of Applied Science Degree and went on to build a distinguished career as a licensed embalmer and funeral director. She served families with exceptional dignity, empathy, and professionalism.


This annual scholarship provides $1,000 in tuition assistance to a student pursuing the Associate of Applied Science Degree at the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service. It is awarded to a student who demonstrates compassion, integrity, dedication to the funeral service profession, and a desire to serve families with excellence.


Through this scholarship, Rebecca’s legacy continues, shaping the next generation of funeral professionals.
