Zelda Marie Cegielski, born on May 20, 1944, in Denton, Texas, peacefully passed away on December 7, 2023, in Willis, Texas. A proud graduate of Regan High School in Houston class of 1962, Zelda was a woman of remarkable beauty and creativity, bringing joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Zelda's artistic flair was evident in her skillful creation of exquisitely decorated cakes, fashionable crocheted apparel, and cherished Christmas ornaments. Her love for literature and classic movies was a testament to her refined taste, and she delighted in sharing her passion for Disney movies with her beloved grandchildren. The walls of her home bore witness to her deep pride in family, adorned with corner-to-corner displays of cherished family portraits.
Zelda is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ignas T. Cegielski, and her parents, Herman and Leola Hunter. She is survived by her three loving children: son Ike Cegielski and wife Hollie Cegielski, daughter Zina Jackson and husband Clifton Jackson, and youngest daughter Zandra Cegielski. Zelda's memory lives on through her two brothers, Albert Hunter and Clint Pate, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth in the hearts of her 11 cherished grandchildren: Jeremy Jackson, Maegan Owen, Hunter Owen, Casey Jackson, Chris Cegielski, Zane Jackson, Ty Turner, Siara Kunkel, Chaz Jackson, Keagan Cegielski, and Zarek Jackson. Zelda also adored her 13 great-grandchildren.
Zelda will be remembered for her enduring love, boundless creativity, and the indelible mark she leaves on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to be touched by her presence. May she rest in eternal peace.
The graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 18, 2023 in Cegelski Family Cemetery, off Chadwick-Hogan RD, Chappell Hill, TX 77426.
