Woodrow Lee “Woody” Manuel, age 70, passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2019. He was born on January 22, 1949 in Houston and grew up in Channelview as the oldest of five children. Woody served his country in the US Army and was released in 1970. He was a handy man who loved woodworking, fishing and shooting his guns. His grandchildren were his world and he easily made friends with all whom he met. He worked as a diesel mechanic for United and Jack Cooper Transport before retiring with Hadley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Linzy Lee Manuel and Leverne Augusta Schultz, and his three sisters, Peggy, Cindy and Debbie. Woody is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Vicki Manuel; children, Melanie, Jeremy, Lonnie and wife Carla, Melissa and husband Paul and Cassandra and husband Vinn; grandchildren, Kristopher, Erin, Alexis, Victoria, Paul, Zeke, Vinn, Lorelai, Jeru and Archer; and his great granddaughter, Katherine; and PopPop to Darcie; his brother, Paul; niece, Megan; and several other family members and many friends too numerous to mention but none the less loved.
Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 12 Noon on Saturday, April 27, 2019 with a funeral service to be held at 1 pm at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 N. Frazier at Wilson, Suite 115, Conroe, Texas 77301. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Manuel, Lonnie Manuel, Jeremy Tucker, Kristopher Zuniga, Paul Zuniga and Vinn Adams.
