William "Pat" Patton

September 18, 1933 — February 12, 2025

William "Pat" Patton went to be with his wife, Jenny, in their heavenly home on February 12, 2025. Pat was born on September 18, 1933 in Beaumont, Texas to parents William B. Patton and Audrey Meguess Patton. He grew up in south Texas and graduated from Beeville High School, then went on to graduate from Southwest Texas State in San Marcos, Texas in 1956. He met his life-long love in Alvin while working part time summers at Stanolind Oil in the Hastings office. Genevieve (Jenny) worked at the Hastings office also. They were married on September 4, 1955 in Alvin at Grace Episcopal Church. Before graduating, their oldest daughter, Patricia, was born in 1956. After graduation, they moved to Alvin, where Sharon, the second daughter, was born. After being transferred to Beaumont, Gretna, LA and Tulsa, OK, Pat began to travel worldwide for Amoco. Finally he was transferred back to the Houston area (Cypress) and then Alvin, before retiring at age 55 and moving to April Sound in Montgomery, where he enjoyed playing golf most days. He was an avid golfer and was club champion at Alvin Country Club in Alvin,, Bayou Barriere in Gretna and April Sound in Montgomery. He also made and repaired golf clubs at his home shop in April Sound. He and Jenny had a motorhome for several years and loved to travel.

Pat is survived by two daughters, Patricia and Sharon, three grandsons, Mark Denney, Christopher Sembera and wife Belinda and Bill Sembera and his partner, Dylan, four step-grandsons, Daren (Shorty), Dylan, Derrick and David, great grandson, Brycen Denney and 3 step- great granddaughters. Pat is also survived by his brother, Hank of New Braunfels and 2 nephews, William and Preston and a niece, Ann. Graveside service will be held at 11:30 on Saturday, April 12 in Alvin at the Confederate Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice or to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
