Virginia Grant Gessner, age 90, passed away on November 25, 2012. She was born on April 18, 1922 in Healdton, OK. Virginia grew up in St. Louis and spent her summers in South Haven, MI. She moved to Texas in the late 40's where she met the love of her life Melford. She was the food service director for Joske's in the Galleria area of Houston. After retiring, Virginia worked part time for realtor Mary Ann Whisenhunt while helping to raise her grandchildren. She loved animals and was an avid bowler until the age of 89, winning many local and state awards and serving as league secretary for the Sunday night Scramblers. Virginia is preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Melford Gessner and granddaughter Kimberly. She is survived by her son, Phillip Gessner and wife Anita; daughter, Stephanie Justice and husband Scott; grandchildren, Kyle, Joshua, Mary, Daniel, Cali, Amanda, and Colton; great grandchildren, Aleczander, Shay, Sage, and Lincoln; and numerous relatives and friends.
