Vernon Henry Magnia of Conroe TX. passed away suddenly at home on 12-31-2016 at the age of 52. Vernon was born on September 11, 1964 in Victoria TX. to Daniel and Betty Magnia. As a baby, he was baptized into the Lutheran faith when he lived in El Campo, Texas.
As a child, he liked to take his bicycle apart and put it back together. He kept spare parts in boxes in his bedroom closet. During high school, he kept to himself while enjoying reading, excelling at math and learning metal trades and carpentry craftsman skills. He liked to hunt, fish, play dominoes and help in the family garden. He graduated from Conroe High School in 1983.
As a high school student, he worked for Sparkler Mfg. He then went on to build custom doors for contractors. Later, he worked as a mechanical supervisor for Nations Rent and Williams Brothers Construction. He was known as Nations Rent’s best hydraulic mechanic. At Williams Brothers, he was a mechanical supervisor and managed two crews. He had an engineer aptitude along with common sense skills on how to fix things. He carried on the family tradition of BBQing, being a great cook, having a strong work ethic and having a garden. Vernon, we honor you for your giving heart and sweet spirit, for love of family and friends, your easy smile and humor, and for YOU, who we love so much.
Vernon is preceded in death by his parents Daniel Magnia and Betty Schuenemann Magnia, his step father Eddie, and his brother Alan. He is survived by his children Joshua, Candace, Daniel and 6 grandchildren, his sister Janice, Aunt Sug and Uncle Bruce, Aunt Nona and Aunt Anne and many cousins and special friend Mary.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Vernon’s name to the American Lung Association or a charity of your choice. The family will be having a celebration of life on Saturday January 21, 2017 at 11:00AM at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 N. Frazier St. STE 115 Conroe TX. 77301.
