VaLera Edison went to be with Jesus on April 21st, 2017. She lived a life full of His love, encouragement, and joy. She taught her family what it meant to love deeply. They continually told her, she was “strong, sweet and hard to beat.” Her excellent work ethic won her the Waitress of the Year Award for Houston Hospitality. Her care for people made her one of the most requested waitresses for over 45 years at the Stables Steak House and Look’s Sirloin Steak House of Houston.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 8 years, Ancel (Eddie) Edison; mother and father, Ozie Mae and Jay Stubblefield, three lovely sisters, Reba Patterson, Earlene White, Wilma Voorhies and two brothers Nolan Stubblefield and Shelton Stubblefield.
She is survived by her son, Jim Tucker and his wife, Traci; three daughters and their husbands, Sharron and Eddie Lakey, Reba and Alan McDonough, Paddy and Steve Warman. She was an extraordinary grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by her brothers, C.B. (Buddy) Stubblefield, Hoot Stubblefield, and much loved nieces and nephews.
