Thomas Hart, age 75, passed away at his home in Conroe, Texas on Friday, December 7, 2018. He was born on February 21, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to Bernard and Martha Hart. As a child, he lived in Michigan until he relocated to Boca Raton, Florida after retiring from the Detroit Fire Department due to a service related injury in 1976. He then resided in Georgia, Mississippi, and finally put down roots in Cut N’ Shoot, Texas. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963 and received a Master’s in Christian Psychology in 1995. In his early life, Thomas worked as a certified clown for many Detroit events, specifically for the Policeman and Fireman’s Field Days. A true man of service, he continued to work as a volunteer firefighter in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Texas. Thomas was a lifetime member of the American Legion. He worked with the Firefighters Ministry out of Houston. He was a man of God and loved to share the Word whenever he could. He was a chaplain and helped many people in the rough times of their lives.
Thomas was preceded death by his parents, Bernard and Martha; and daughter, Lisa Lucko. He is survived by the love of his life, Jacqueline Anstrom Hart of Conroe, Texas; daughter, Kelly (Toms) Hart Andrews of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren, Gage Andrews, Eric, Alex, Christina, Amanda Bonilla and Sarah Bonilla-Parrish (Addison) of Florida; his sister, Barbara Hart and nephew Mark Stewart of Northville, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Camp Hope in Houston.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
