Thomas Anthony Bunch was born June 16, 1977 and was called home by his savior July 11, 2021. Born in Springfield, Missouri, Tom grew up in the nearby small town of Pleasant Hope and graduated from Pleasant Hope High School in 1995. Tom excelled as a pitcher in little league and high school baseball, was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, loved dirt bikes, go-carts, working on cars, and his many pets over the years, most notably, his beloved cocker spaniel, Gypsy. She was his best friend for 16 years and preceded him in death last February.
Tom made it to the great state of Texas in his mid-20s and quickly made it his home. He built a great career in Houston at Dyna Drill and Basintek and made many good friends. Tom was a loving father and worked hard to give his children a fun and memorable childhood. He built them treehouses, took them on many trips to Galveston beach, amusement parks, Astros and Cardinals baseball games, and spent many evenings playing Mario Kart on the Wii.
Tom was a member of Hope City Church and loved volunteering wherever he was needed. He was a compassionate, loving soul, a gifted helper and hard worker. Those who knew him, knew they could always count on him. His life was much too short, but he lived it to the fullest. Tom wasn’t perfect and the last few years were very difficult, but he loved deeply, laughed often, and his children were his moon and stars!
He is survived by his son, Thomas Wesley Bunch; his daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Michael Grenwelge and his first granddaughter due in October; his parents, Linda and Jerry Bunch; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Missouri. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his favorite uncle, David; and his cousin, Joshua. He loved his savior, his children and parents, extended family, and friends. Tom was loved by many and will be dearly missed, but his fun-loving spirit will live on in all of us.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 N Frazier St #115, Conroe, TX 77301. The service will be live streamed. There will be a small reception to follow.
