Theola Fay Brumfield Yarbrough, age 85, passed away on October 24, 2023, at her home in Spring, Texas. She was born December 17, 1938,in Heights Hospital and was raised in the semi-rural area north of Houston called Recreation Acres. She went to school in Klein ISD school and graduated from Klein High School, the only high school in Klein ISD in 1957. As a child, she enjoyed the rural lifestyle.
Her family and all the neighbors had milk cows, horses, chickens, and gardens. After high school, Theola worked for several years at the old HL&P in downtown Houston. After marriage, she became a stay-at-home housewife. When she and Thad became empty-nesters, she became a teacher's aide in the child care facility at McCullough High School in The Woodlands. She was thrilled when her first granddaughter became enrolled in that program as a three-year-old.
She and Thad were members of and were married in White Oak Baptist Church in north Houston. After moving to Montgomery County, they became members of Oak Ridge Baptist Church, and since 1995 have been members of Gateway Church on Rayford Road.
She is preceded in death by parents Tom Wade and Mary Elephair Brumfield, and siblings Twilla Mary and Terry Lee Brumfield. She is survived by her husband, Thad Smith Yabrough; Children: Daughter, Tracy Loyce Yarbrough and Husband Gary Kroll, Son: Travis Wade and Wife Jamie Yarbrough, Son: Todd Edward and Wife Melody Yarbrough; Grandchildren: Torie Ann Kroll-Smith, Tori Lee Yarbrough, Tristian Storm Yarbrough, Tyler John Yarbrough. Brothers: Tom Wade Brumfield Jr. and wife Pauline Brumfield, Troy Edwin Brumfield; Sister Thadelene Joyce Porras; Sister-in-law: Sion Edair Yarbrough; Many nieces and nephews.
