Ted Joe Hall of Houston, Texas, left for Heaven on March 20, 2025. He was born November 15,
1934, in Sweetwater, Tennessee, the only child of Teddy Clarence Hall and Bonnie Elizabeth
Isbell Hall. After moving to Texas in 1950, Ted graduated from Conroe High School in 1952, and
from there he attended Texas A&M University for two years. In 1954 he began working for the
Texas Highway Department, where his interest in civil engineering, especially roads and
bridges, was sparked by the resident engineer B.W. Cooper. Ted also met and began dating his
future wife Peggy Jean Isbell in 1956, while they were both working for the Highway
Department. The following year, Ted was drafted into the United States Army, during which time
he served most of his active duty as an equipment specialist for guided missiles at Fort Bliss. In
1960, after finishing active duty, Ted and Peggy married and began building their life together.
Over the next decade, they had three children, while Ted continued to work for the Highway
Department. During that time, he studied diligently to take the exams required to become a
registered professional engineer. Finally, in 1971, he became fully accredited and began his
employment in the private construction sector in the greater Montgomery County area. For the
next twenty years, he worked with L.W.B. Construction Co. as Vice President of Operations, and
after that he was employed by Smith and Co. for another fifteen years. Throughout his life, Ted
remained dedicated to providing a secure, stable life for his family, and after fifty years of
service in the construction industry, he finally retired in 2005. That same year, Ted and Peggy
moved to League City, Texas, in order to be closer to the Gulf Coast, where they enjoyed
spending their free time relaxing on the beach and visiting with family and friends. Over the next
twenty years, they were blessed with six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; in addition,
they formed many close friendships in both the League City and Galveston communities.
Finally, in 2024, they moved to the Houston area to be closer to family, and in November, Ted
celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by those he loved.
Ted is preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie and Ted Hall. He is survived by his spouse of
sixty-five years, Peggy, and by his children and their spouses: Mary Hall Black, Doug Black,
Amy Hall Woodall, Eric Woodall, Patrick Hall, and Dana Hobdy. He is also survived by his
