On February 12, 2014, Sunshine Melissa Reed passed away unexpectedly in Splendora, Texas where she had resided for the past several years. Sunshine was born on December 6, 1979 in Houston, Texas. She was the oldest of three children. She received her early education in the New Caney School District, transferring to Humble schools after elementary. Sunshine was preceded in death by her aunt, Theresa Canino; her step mother, Rebecca Reed; and her great grandmother, Jennie Canino. She is survived by her husband, Gene Gorley; son, Anthony Reed; mother, Trinette Canino and husband Robert Morgan; father, Tommy Reed; siblings, Shannon and Thomas Reed, Robert and Stephanie Morgan, Austin Conder and Patrick and Mark Gross. Sunshine was an avid football fan and one of her favorite things to do was go watch her son play a good game of football, season after season, year after year. Anthony has always been quite an athlete and she was definitely a proud mother and by all accounts his biggest fan. She also loved music, just about any kind, though her taste definitely took and obvious change the older she got! Sunshine loved spending time with her family and truly had a heart of gold. She was genuine, loyal and quick to stand up, not only for her family, but for anything and everything that she felt strongly about. In other words, no one ever had to wonder what her opinion was about something! She was definitely a one-of-a-kind, and her name fit her perfectly. She will be missed by many.
