Spring

Sue Ellen Sparks — lovingly known to just about everyone as “Sparky” — passed away on February 8, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on March 26, 1960, she lived a life full of strength, laughter, compassion, and just the right amount of sass.

Sparky made her home in Spring, Texas, where she lived with her daughter Tiffany, granddaughter Jaiden, & great-granddaughter Laylani. Being surrounded by her family was one of her greatest joys. She was the heart of her family — steady, protective, and endlessly loving.

She is survived by her three daughters: Tiffany, Jennifer, and Crystal, who were her pride and purpose. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Jaiden, Alexa, Jared, Joshua, Andy, Destinee, Brylee, and Kellbee; and her adored great-grandchildren: Laylani, Averie, Lorelei, Rain, and Storm. Sparky is also survived by her sister Mary; her brothers Robert, Kyle, and Mike; and countless extended family members and friends who meant the world to her. To know her was to be loved by her.

Sparky was a registered nurse for her entire adult life — not just by profession, but by nature. Nursing wasn’t simply a career; it was who she was. She had a rare gift for making people feel safe, heard, and cared for during their hardest moments. Many would say she was the best nurse they ever had, but those who knew her best understood that her compassion didn’t clock out at the end of a shift. Taking care of others was woven into her soul.

Outside of her work, Sparky knew how to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. She was an avid reader — especially of the spicy novels that kept her entertained and probably blushing more than she’d admit. She adored her pup, Itty, who held a very special place in her heart. And if there was a bowl of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream nearby, you could bet she wasn’t far from it.

She had a spark — true to her nickname — that lit up a room. She was strong-willed, warm-hearted, funny, and fiercely devoted to her family. Her love was loud, protective, and unwavering.

Per her request, there will be no formal funeral services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for all who loved her — a time to gather, share stories, laugh, maybe cry a little, and remember the incredible woman who touched so many lives.

Sparky’s legacy lives on in the family she built, the patients she cared for, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always carried in the hearts of those who knew her.
