Sherry Lynn Douglas, age 59, passed away on January 9, 2023 in Magnolia, TX. She was born on April 25, 1963 in Galveston, TX.
Sherry was a fourth generation “born on the island” and was very proud of her family’s Galveston heritage. As a child, Sherry loved playing softball, swimming, dancing, and listening to music. Sherry graduated from Clear Lake High School and then from San Jacinto College where she became a nurse for over 25 years and had a strong compassion for others.
Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Douglas; mother, Shirley Maxey; brother, Kenneth Maxey; first husband, Robert Powell; maternal grandparents, Mary Margaret and Clarence Seale; paternal grandmother, Lillie Thorsland, and her beloved dogs Katy, Buffy, Susie and Toto.
She was survived by her father, Robert Maxey; daughter, Leslie Frazier and husband Dusty Frazier; three grandchildren, Cor Frazier, Lucca Frazier and Kayode Frazier; siblings, Peggy Tomme, Jane Roller; and nephew, Kyle Roller.
