Shelly Cochran

August 10, 1965 — April 24, 2026

Shelly Cochran, born August 10, 1965, in Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, after bravely battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia with strength, courage, and unwavering love.

Shelly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Dean Cochran, and her parents, Nancy Lee Windholz and William Joseph Windholz.

She is survived by her three children, Sean Robert Cochran; Kailee Lynn Ingram and husband Stephen Edward Ingram Jr., along with their children Mackenna Lynn and Luke Edward; and Morgan Elise Cochran, along with her daughter Raelynn Jean. Shelly is also lovingly remembered by her partner, Richard Scott Broberg, and his children, Garrett, Zack, Carter, and Ashley, who held a special place in her heart.

Shelly was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, and proudly graduated from Western High School, Class of 1984. Shortly after graduation, she began her career in 1985 with Mercy Ambulance, where she served as a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician. It was there that she discovered her lifelong calling to serve others and support her community. Shelly maintained her Advanced Emergency Medical Technician certification throughout her life, reflecting her continued commitment to emergency services and public safety.

After her time in emergency medical services, Shelly transitioned into a successful career in public relations and marketing, where she continued to build relationships and advocate for causes and organizations she believed in. Most recently, she had accepted a position with the Clark County Fire Department and proudly served as a Volunteer Firefighter for the Clark County Fire Department Rural Division. Anyone who knew Shelly understood that her love for the fire service surpassed any role she held. Serving others and supporting the fire service community was not just her work. It was her passion.

Throughout her life, Shelly was a pillar in her community, spreading awareness and providing education about child passenger safety, fire safety, and emergency preparedness. Her passion for service and education was something to be admired, and her impact will be felt by many for years to come.

Shelly had a deep love for travel and adventure. She explored many places around the world and always looked forward to planning her next journey. Above all else, she loved her children and grandchildren fiercely and found her greatest joy in being surrounded by family.

Most recently, Shelly was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She faced her diagnosis with remarkable resilience and hope. In one of her own social media posts, she shared that while AML stands for Acute Myeloid Leukemia, she preferred to redefine it as “All My Love.” That message perfectly captured the way she lived her life, leading with compassion, generosity, and heart.

Shelly was smart, witty, and fiercely loyal to those who stood beside her. She had a rare gift for connecting with others. There was never a stranger in her world. She could talk to anyone, make them laugh, and leave them feeling valued and cared for. Her legacy is one of service, strength, and unconditional love.

There will be no formal celebration of life. The family respectfully encourages those who knew and loved Shelly to celebrate her in their own meaningful way.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in her memory. Should anyone wish to support her family as they have relocated to Texas and are adapting to a significant change without her, donations may be made through GoFundMe (https://gofund.me/4c9cb618d) or Zelle (kailee.ingram@gmail.com).
