Rose Mary "Rosie" Stephens

Rose Mary “Rosie” Stephens, born January 3, 1948, in Mobile, Alabama, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord. She was the beloved daughter of William Levene and Mazie Wheeler of Mobile, Alabama.

Rosie met the love of her life, Rick Stephens, in Arlington, Texas through a mutual friend. Shortly after Rick returned home from the Vietnam War, the two married—just nine days later—on March 20, 1970. Their love story continued for 56 beautiful years, marked by devotion, partnership, and deep affection.

Rosie and Rick welcomed two children: their daughter, Angela Lynn, born July 15, 1971, and their son, Jonathan Wayne, born August 13, 1973. Rosie cherished her role as a mother and later as a grandmother to three grandchildren: Lauren Anne (husband Josh Clanton), Abby Rochelle Stephens, and Emily Victoria Ambs. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Robin Birdsong, and her son‑in‑law, Joseph Ambs II.

Rosie was known for her gentle spirit, her kindness, and her unwavering concern for others. She had more friends than could ever be named, each drawn to her warmth and compassion. She loved children and animals, and she carried a nurturing heart that touched everyone she met. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her love into her husband, children, and grandchildren every day of her life.

A devoted Christian, Rosie lived her faith with sincerity and grace. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now in Heaven with the Lord, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Rick adored her deeply, and he looks forward to the day they will be together again.

Rosie will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Rosie’s life will be held at 11:30 AM, on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Carbon Church, 115 Arapahoe Drive, Montgomery, TX 77316.
