Ronald Horton Ridlehuber, a dedicated family man and avid sportsman, passed away on September 18, 2025, in Montgomery, TX, at the age of 72. Born on February 5, 1953, in Snyder, TX, Ronald lived a life marked by commitment to family, professional excellence, and personal passions.

A proud alumnus of Hale High School, Ron excelled in sports, playing baseball, football and basketball. He would earn a full ride scholarship in baseball to Southern Methodist University, where he graduated with a BBA in 1975. His athletic prowess as a Mustang was notable, setting a record for 29 home runs that remains unmatched. His dedication to SMU continued throughout his life as a passionate donor to the Mustang Club and the Circle of Champions.

Ron devoted his professional career to the insurance industry, starting in insurance administration. He joined Southland Life in 1975, where he worked until 1989, before transitioning to Life of Georgia until 1993. His career continued to flourish as he took on roles in North Carolina at Jefferson Pilot from 1993 to 1998, eventually serving as President of American General from 1998 to 2001 in Houston, TX, and then as President of North American Company of Life and Health from 2003 to 2007 in Chicago, IL. Following these significant roles, he embraced entrepreneurship and worked as a self-employed individual from 2007 until 2025.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Ron was a devoted member of the Texas Masons, where he actively participated from 2019 until his passing. He was installed to the position of Worshipful Master in June 2025, reflecting his leadership and commitment to the organization. His work with his Masonic brothers was a true passion and one of his proudest achievements.

Ron’s passions extended beyond his career and Masonic involvement. He was an enthusiastic participant in golf, tennis, hunting, running, and fishing. His love for the game of golf saw him as a member of several prestigious country clubs, including The Woodlands Country Club, Carlton Woods, and Bluejack National. He cherished moments spent in the Hawaiian Islands, which he regarded as his favorite getaway. He was most happy when spending time with family and friends. He loved to entertain, grill, and share stories over a bottle of Silver Oak.

Ron is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl; his son, Kenny, and daughter-in-law, Katherine; his sister, Gail Robbins; his niece, Deena Robbins; his nephew, Chandler Robbins; and numerous family and friends who will remember him for his warmth, integrity, and zest for life.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Horton and Loretta Ridlehuber.
