Ronald Wayne Gholston, passed away suddenly on July 13, 2023, at his Ranch in Centerville Texas. He was born in Houston Texas on September 5, 1952, to Ruby Burrow and Cleo Gholston. He spent most of his life in the Houston area. Following in his father's footsteps, he went on to become a home builder. He was a sportsman. He loved fishing, hunting, and watching football, his favorite team was the 49ers, and he had a background in martial arts. He enjoyed listening to Dr. Charles Stanley on Sunday mornings. His favorite Hymn was, What a day that will be. He was a huge TRUMP supporter.
He loved to travel, his two favorite places to go were South Padre Island, Texas, and Leakey, Texas. He enjoyed fine dining and country music. His favorite musical artist was Elvis Presley, with Conway Twitty as his second. He loved to watch old westerns. Some of his favorites were The Rifleman and Gunsmoke. His favorite movie was Tombstone. He had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing karaoke. He also was a businessman and entrepreneur. He owned one of the largest salons in The Woodlands, Texas. His nicknames were Cowboy Ron, Elvis, R&R aka Rowdy Ron, and PawPaw.
At the age of twenty, he married his first wife, Cathyrn Wilhite. They were blessed with two sons, Ronnie Wayne, and Cris Dael. He is proceeded in death by his parents Cleo and Ruby; grandparents Papa Gholston and Ma Gholston; Floyd Burrow and Nancy Burrow; brothers Gene and Jerry; sister-in-law Mernie; brother-in-law Mike Wilhite; nephew Bear Gholston; cousin Troy Gholston; and his first wife Cathy.
He is survived by his wife Heather Gholston, whom he married on May 18, 2022, his son Ronnie Wayne and daughter-in-law Kristie; son Cris and daughter-in-law Naomi; sister Mary Ann and brother-in-law Warner; father-in-law Jim; sisters-in-law Lauretta, Lona, and Linda; grandchildren Travis, Graci, Bella, Brock, and Lani; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly.
His favorite Bible verse was Proverbs 3:5&6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths".
