Ron G. Harper, age 62, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at his residence in Willis. He was born in Baxter Springs, Kansas and at an early age moved to Texas with his family. After graduating high school in League City, he moved to Oklahoma to attend college. While there, he met and married Deborah Redden.A man of God, Ron was a solid, dependable and good-natured man who was full of life. He had a quirky sense of humor and loved to give people a good ribbing. A Regional Coordinator in the oil and gas information industry who worked in an office, he loved spending his free time outdoors. In his early years, he enjoyed rappelling and loved to play golf. He also enjoyed spending time with his family camping and assisting his children with their different sporting events. Ron was also quite the handyman and enjoyed building things for his children and grandchildren.Ron was preceded in death by his father, Phil Harper, and is survived by his wife of 40 years, Deborah Harper; daughters, Kendra Stagg and husband Michael Joe and Chalise Brown and husband Cory; grandchildren, Blake, Cheyenne, Sierra, Levi, Michael Joe Jr., Emily, Natalie and Brayden; mother, Norma Jean Ransom; sister, Teresa Klopping; brother, Danny Harper; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ron's name to church or to the minister for assisting with the service.
