With heavy hearts we share the passing of Robert “Bob” Norvell (Willis, Texas), who peacefully
passed away surrounded by loved ones on February 8, 2023, at the age of 79. He was preceded
in death by his father Shirley Norvell, mother Elverta Norvell, brother Gary Norvell, sister Jean
Diaz, grandson Josiah Norvell and nieces Lea Ann Smith and Vicki Gillum
Bob was born on January 25, 1944 in Farmington, New Mexico. He joined the United States
Navy when he was 19 where he happened to meet his wife on a bus back to base and was
honorably discharged as an E5. Bob married the love of his life Clemencia Norvell of 59 years in
1963. Bob gave his entire life to serving others and spreading the word of Christ, it was
impossible for him to meet a stranger and at times made it hard on those traveling with him.
Bob loved his family and was an extremely proud “Pawpaw/PawPoo” there wasn’t a
conversation that could come up that he didn’t work in one of his grandkids or great grandkids.
Bob loved to share his knowledge of all things and was always willing to lend a helping hand to
anyone who could use it. He was a dedicated father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather,
uncle, brother-in-law, and friend.
He leaves behind his loving wife Clemencia Norvell, four children; Jimmy Norvell, Johnny
Norvell, Valerie and husband James Ott, Joseph, and wife Heather Norvell; eleven
grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
