Robert Michael Mcclain (Mick)

April 6, 1942 — April 2, 2020

Robert Michael McClain (Mick), age 77, passed away on April 2, 2020. He was born on April 6, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to David Robert and Gloria Hancock McClain. He joined the US Air Force on July 20, 1959 where he was a highly accomplished and awarded Computer Specialist. On March 21, 1964, he married his wife of 56 years Elly P. McClain (Mutsaers) and they had four kids. Mick was very active in his children’s lives coaching football and little league baseball, being Captain of the Monday night golf league, a longtime member of the Eagles Club and the Elks. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with family hunting, fishing, black powder shooting, and camping.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David Ernest and Stephen Carrol; son, Stephen Joseph McClain; granddaughter, Amber Lee; and grandson, Anthony Charles. He is survived by his loving wife, Elly; children, Robert David, Ronald Conelius (Casey) and April Michele; brothers, Paul Joseph and James Leone; sisters, Patricia Ann and Bonnie Jean; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

As the immediate family grieves and mourns, we understand the desire of friends and family to come together and mourn Mick's passing, however, due to the current pandemic and social restrictions, we feel that for the benefit of public health and safety, memorial services should be held at a later date to be announced. We have already lost Mick. We do not wish to lose anyone else. Be safe and take care of each other.
