Ricky Dale Westling, was born May 25, 1957 and left this earth November 16, 2020. He was an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast and could be found on any beautiful day cruising the back roads of Texas in his Mustang or with the wind blowing through his hair on his Harley. Rick loved music, whether it be singing karaoke to his adoring wife or many fans, or entertaining the grandkids, he was never without a song for any occasion. A graduate of Nelson County Hs in 1975, Rick began his life in Texas in the early 80s, finally landing in Montgomery, TX in 2007.
Rick was the owner and operator of Houston City Cable Services since 2003 and a member of Lone Star Cowboy Church.
Rick is survived by his wife of 17 years, Karla Mahaffey Westling; daughter Nicci Byrd and husband, Kevin, of Richmond, Texas; son John Mahaffey and wife Jessica of Brandon, Mississippi; and grandchildren Bailee and Shelby Byrd, Grace and Hunter Mahaffey, and Brase Floyd-Estrada. Along with siblings Dennis Wayne Westling and Gary Allen Westling of Bardstown, Kentucky; sisters, Sharon Renae Thompson of Lebanon, Ky. Angela Kay Rizo- Fuentes of Bardstown, Ky, and Aunt Billie-Joyce Ellis of Bardstown, Ky as well as an assortment of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents Mary Jo Westling of Bardstown, Ky and Dale A. Westling of North Dakota, grandparents John Raymond and Odell Ellis, Aunt Ruth Ann Humphrey and Uncle Ronald Newton, of Bardstown, Ky, and in-laws Carl and Mildred Vickers of Urania, LA.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Lone Star Cowboy Church, 21627 Eva St, Montgomery, TX 77356.
