Rhonda Lemp Hughes was born on November 22, 1967, without much warning to Delores and Harry Lemp at Andrews AFB in Maryland. Her parents moved her and her brothers many times, including Israel and England before settling down in Houston. She attended Spring Branch schools from first Grade including Northbrook High School where she met some of her lifelong friends.
Rhonda started working at a nursery school and loved working with the children. Then she tried real estate where she worked as an apartment manager while she studied for her real estate license. She loved music-from her daddy's country and classical to rock and roll with Elvis, the Beatles, and many more. Later she began to love to listen to Christian music and hymns.
Douglas Hughes and Rhonda married on June 28, 2002. They bought their home in Pinehurst. Doug works as a licensed electrician and Rhonda worked at a veterinary clinic. They fostered cats and few always stayed behind at their house. She seemed to be headed for "the little old cat lady" of legend.
Rhonda was a caring and giving person and always wanted to help any underdog she could find. She worked closely with a couple of boys to try to stabilize their studies and because she cared.
She also took in her niece Stephanie Hughes to enable her to finish her medical studies and was overjoyed when Stephanie brought her daughter Ember Ramsey into their life.
Rhonda always sought a world of peace, love, harmony, and goodwill. We all hope and pray that her last journey has at last brought that world to her and that she can share it with us as we pray for the repose of her soul and her new life in Jesus and Mother Mary.
