Regina Lynn Hunt, also known as Gina by her loved ones, was born on August 12, 1957 as the firstborn to James Hunt and Ardelia Hunt at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Houston, Texas. She lived in the Texas areas of Houston, Spring, Acres Home and Conroe throughout her lifetime. Gina is survived by her son Calvin Hunt, her daughter-in-law Crystal Hunt, her grandchildren: Desmond Hunt (18), Damarien Hunt (14), Destinee Hunt (11) and Danielle Hunt (10), her brother James A. Hunt, and her sisters: Gaynell Henderson and Olevia Kennerson. She was preceded in death by her loving mom Ardelia Hunt (1982) her father James Hunt (2022), her younger brother Robert Hunt (1990), and the love of her life Calvin Hines (1996).
She graduated from MB Smiley High School in 1975 and worked as a Postal Mail Distributor for over 25 years at multiple locations around Houston until her retirement in 2009. She then continued contributing to her community by working as a medical auditor, a bus driver for the Conroe and Humble School Districts and Goodman Services, and lastly at the Solis Medical Laboratory in Houston.
Her passions in life included telling people about Jesus, baking delicious cakes, photographing nature, sewing quilts, knitting fabrics, and being an avid film buff, especially of the Godzilla series. She was known for her infectious smile, warm hugs and vibrant personality. Her greatest desire was for her loved ones to seek and know God.
She had her first fight against breast cancer in 2022, achieving victory in 2023 until an aggressive resurgence in 2026 claimed her life at the Heart to Heart Hospice house near 1960. She was looking forward to being in Glory with the Lord and her loved ones.
Her celebration of life will be held on May 15th, at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, located at 12412 FM 2854 Road, Conroe, Texas 77304. 12 PM is for viewing and fellowship, followed by a celebration service at 1 PM.
The family requests that attendees wear white and pink at the services, these are her favorite colors and represent her four-year fight with cancer.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Oakwood Church of Christ to further the Gospel of Jesus in Houston Texas.
