It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Randall “Randy” Wayne Roberson on September 29, 2024, at the age of 73, surrounded by family. Randy was born on July 30, 1951, in Jacksonville, Florida to JV and Velma Roberson. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend.
Randy lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to both his family and his country. Randy proudly served in the United States Army, exemplifying courage, duty, and honor during two tours in the Vietnam War as a helicopter pilot and as an Army reservist until 1983 with his last rank of Warrant Officer. His military service was a source of great pride throughout his life, and he carried the values of discipline and commitment into everything he did. After his time in the Army, Randy continued to lead by example as a devoted family man. Randy was married to his loving wife, Sandra Roberson, for 37 years. Together, they built a life centered on family and love. He was a proud father to his four children: Dallas Roberson, Danielle Bryant, Lori Bass, and Jeffrey Snedecor. He was also a cherished grandfather to 12 and a great-grandfather to his special Laynee Rae Bell, all roles he embraced with joy and unconditional love.
Randy had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending his free time fishing and hunting. He spent many summers at the coast saltwater fishing with his best friend John Linney. He also found joy in dancing, playing games, and sitting on the porch visiting with family and friends, cherishing every moment he spent with loved ones.
Randy is preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Jean Cain, 2 brothers “Shorty” JV Roberson Jr and Roy Roberson, and 2 nephews. Randy is survived by his loving wife, his 4 children, all his grandchildren, his great-grandchild, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and many long-time dear friends.
Randy’s legacy of service, love, and strength will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain forever in our hearts.
