As well many other extended families in the US and abroad.

Although born in the US, he grew up in Argentina, before returning to the States in his mid 20's to join the US Army. Paul L. Murad lived a fantastic life. He traveled all over the world and called many places home including New York, New Jersey, Illinois, California, Seattle Washington, Argentina, Mexico City and for the past 26 years he called April Sound in Montgomery Texas. He traveled around the world - having learned to speak about a half dozen different languages - visiting, working and in some cases living in countries such as Japan, Russia, Argentina, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Brazil, and Germany, among others. When recently asked he said that Japan was his favorite; he enjoyed the cuisine and the people there treated him with kindness and respect.

He served in the armed forces in the army branch as a solider, having signed up in 1955 and being honorably discharged in 1963. He was proud to be a veteran and treasured many memories and lifelong friendships from his experience as a solider. Over his lifetime he held various occupations as an artist, draftsman, contractor, mechanical engineer, teacher, among many other specialties and talents. As an engineer, he worked most of his career in the paper industry. Paul Murad was a proud and very active member of the April Sound Church for over 20 years. He especially loved and looked forward to assisting with Vacation Bible School every summer. He had a passion and great love for books. He owned hundreds of books and treasured the stories they told. He was an active volunteer with the Literacy Volunteers of America where he taught literacy and English (ESL) he taught hundreds of students and clocked in over 3,000 recorded volunteer hours!

He was a formidable artist, painter, writer, illustrator and draftsman. He painted and created art in all mediums. In his later years focused on pyrography or wood burning. He spent hours working on his art pieces some he sold, some he donated and some he made as gifts. He created several murals including two located in the April Sound Church that depicts the story of Noah's Ark and the story of Moses. This particular mural has been one of his greatest accomplishments.
Paul was a Christian man that loved the Lord. He walked with him daily in prayer and leaned on him and trusted him for all things. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him but we remain in peace knowing that he is in his eternal home experiencing the Glory of God and heaven this very moment and we will once again be reunited with him. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Paul chose to be cremated. So there will be no burial following the church service. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations be made to his beloved April Sound Church in his name. The church meant a great deal to Dad and it was an integral part of his life. Paul was much loved and will be missed tremendously by many friends and family.
