Patricia Jean Giesler Klingensmith

April 20, 1931 — April 23, 2023

Patricia Jean Giesler Klingensmith entered into Perfect Peace on Sunday April 23, 2023.
“Pat” was born April 20, 1931 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to George Giesler and Alice Porter Giesler. She spent most of her childhood in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area of Brackenridge and Tarentum. Upon graduating from New Kensington High School in June of 1949, Pat went to Pittsburg to Business College where she earned an Associate Degree in Business Accounting. She moved to Monroe, Michigan after college and began working in the payroll department at Lake Stamping Manufacturing in Monroe.

In April 1953, she met her forever dancing partner and love of her life Guy Klingensmith at Jimmy’s Rathskeller on her 22nd birthday. They were married in November 1953, and have been together and dancing ever since! While in Monroe and surrounding areas Pat was active in Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority and along with Guy, active in the Jaycees and honored as Jaycees wife of the year. Pat and Guy moved over the years to several places, but settled in Oak Ridge North, Texas, in 1968.

Over the years Pat worked outside the home for Oak Ridge Veterinary Clinic, Montgomery County Bank and as owner of Coopers Shoes in Huntsville, Texas. She also worked in the family Collections Agency business, Huntsville Credit Management. While running their businesses in Huntsville, Pat was very active along with her husband Guy in the Huntsville Rotary Club and the Walker County Chamber of Commerce.

Upon retirement, Pat became a Volunteer at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital. She volunteered many hours serving the Volunteer Auxiliary in different capacities. She absolutely LOVED being a volunteer at Memorial Herman, especially when she had the opportunity to escort mothers with their newborn babies outside to go home. Pat and her husband Guy were honored by InterFaith of the Woodlands for their outstanding work and time as volunteers for The Woodlands Hospital.

Pat was a founding member of Faith United Methodist Church in Spring, Texas. There she served as Sunday School Secretary, Member and President of the United Methodist Women, Communion Coordinator and sang in the Church Choir. She always had a strong Christian Faith, serving the Lord every day of the week - not just on Sundays. Pat lived her Faith and was a beautiful example of Jesus to all she encountered.

Throughout the years her busy schedule always included volunteering at the schools and organizations for her children and grandchildren. She was ALWAYS the LOUDEST Cheerleader and #1 Fan in the crowd for her children and then for her Grandchildren. She NEVER missed an event when it came to her family and extended family. She LOVED BIG and she let you know it!

Pat made April Sound in Montgomery her home in recent years and then Heritage Oaks Assisted Living in Conroe Texas for the last two years. The staff and residence of Heritage Oaks quickly became family to her. She loved the community as evidenced by her big smiles and the “I Love You” that echoed through the halls as she greeted people daily.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, George Giesler, and Alice Porter Gielser; her brother, Richard Giesler; and many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her loving husband Guy Klingensmith; son, Paul Klingensmith and his wife Susan; daughter, Nancy Klingensmith Bodman and her husband Steve; grandchildren, Jillian Klingensmith Mills and her husband Jessie, Paul Gregory Klingensmith Jr. and wife Lindsey, Zachary Paul Bodman and his wife Miranda, Greg Bever and wife Emily, Patrick Bever, Gretchen Davis, Amanda Gonzales and husband Jamie, Stephen Bodman, Nicole Lindsey and husband Chris; and twenty great-grandchildren.
