Nicholas "Nick" F. Link Jr.

September 6, 1960 — March 26, 2025

Nicholas Frances Link, Jr., 64, passed away peacefully at his home in Conroe, Texas.
He was born on September 6, 1960 in McAllen, Texas, to parents Nicholas Sr. and
Trella Dorothy Head Link.
Nickie graduated from McAllen High School and attended Stephen F. Austin University.
He then moved to Lewisville to start his own business while also enjoying time as a
member of the Dallas Ultimate Frisbee Club.
In the fall of 1988, Nickie’s life would be forever changed when he dove into Lake
Lewisville while trying to retrieve a frisbee. He broke his neck, severed his spinal cord,
and would spend the rest of his life paralyzed from the neck down. However, Nickie
charged on, returning to college at Texas A&M University and earning his degree in
Recreation Park & Tourism Science in 1998.
He then moved to Conroe where he was a fixture in his neighborhood. On his daily
rides, he would stop and speak to each neighbor that he passed, making many friends
along the way.
Nickie leaves behind his loving sister, Pamela Kowalik and brother Peter Link; niece
Kim Moeller and husband Brian; nephew Tommy Kowalik and wife Kara; and nephews
and niece, William & Max Moeller and Keaton, Katie, and Tyler Kowalik. Best friends
include Joel Frisby of Austin, Tx, Billy Foster of McAllen, Tx, and Kevin Kuddes of
College Station, Tx whose companionships Nickie treasured.
He is preceded in death by both parents; brothers Michael and Patrick Link and sister
and brother-in-law, Kathy Link Tye and Richard Tye.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider making a donation to the
Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation for spinal cord injuries.
