Nicholas Lawrence Carbajal, 85, passed away on September 6, 2023 in Conroe, Texas. He was born on September 9, 1937 in New Orleans, LA, to Eleanor Pfeffer and Bernard Gonzalez Carbajal II.
At the age of 18, Nick left New Orleans and moved to Texas where he went to the University of Houston and obtained a Bachelors in accounting. He later earned a degree in Law from South Texas College of Law. In 1967, he opened his own law firm where he continued to practice until falling ill just recently. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, the Houston Bar Association, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Conroe.
Nicholas is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor Mills Carbajal; son, Stephen Carbajal and wife Melissa; daughter, Christy Pearson and husband Mark; Grand-children, Tyler Carbajal, Mikeal Carbajal, Hayden Carbajal, Christian Pearson, Lincoln Pearson, Great Grand daughter Genevieve Pearson; siblings, Bernard Carbajal, Carolyn Carbajal McCairns and husband Daniel, Henietta Carbajal Moore and husband Kevin, Brenda Buckley Hemphill and husband Gregory; cousins Deborah Dawson and husband Earl.
He is preceded in death by both parents, brother Kenneth S. Carbajal, sister Patricia Jean Carbajal, along with many other family members.
The family would like to say a special thank you to his cousin Robin Dawson for being a very close friend and business partner.
Nick's ashes will be placed at Houston National Cemetery on October 11, 2023 at 1:30 pm. Those attending will line up in Lane 1 at the cemetery beginning at 1:15 PM.
