Nettie June “Sandy” Hamilton (nee Sands) died in her home on June 27, 2017 in Conroe, TX due to complications following a stroke. She was 73. Mrs. Hamilton was born on April 5, 1943 in Fort Bragg, NC to her late parents, Owen and Myrtle Sands. She married her husband, Mark Hamilton, a Truck Driver, in 1992.
Mrs. Hamilton was a dedicated individual who loved her God and who was passionate about her local church. She was an active and dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Porter, TX where she often volunteered.
Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her husband, Patrick Mark Hamilton; children, Jody Brown and Toby Trinidad of Conroe, TX; her brother, Russel Lee Sands, of Houston, TX; and 51 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen Milo Sands and Myrtle Junelle Sands; her late husband, Greg Thomas; her sister, Myrtle Jo Myers; and her granddaughter, Markie Landers.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, July 3, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Porter, TX. There will be a brief graveside ceremony at the Houston National Cemetery, where Mrs. Hamilton’s body will be interred. Bro. Rob Ray will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sandy’s life. There will be a reception at First Baptist Church in Porter, TX following the graveside ceremony. The family would like to thank Dr. Adeel Afzal, Dr. Paul Cunningham, the staff at Conroe Regional Medical Center, and Harbor Hospice for their care and dedication.
