Nancy Anne Bruner

October 11, 1939 — July 15, 2017

Nancyanne Bruner (Nan) a devoted mother, grandmother and aunt passed away peacefully on July 15, 2017 in The Woodlands, TX. Nan was born to Thelma and Terry Owens on October 11, 1939 in Pueblo, co.
We were blessed to learn several valuable lessons from Nan during her 77 years. She imparted the values of honesty and integrity upon her children, always encouraging them to do their "good, better, best, never let it rest" no matter what. And she made it known that you are the only one to look yourself in the mirror in the morning so make wise choices that you can live with. Her sense of humor always got her through even the toughest of times. Her children and grandchildren filled her world. She was a true lover of life and all things animals, especially Irish Terriers and Golden Retrievers.
She worked as an office manager for several orthopedic doctors both in Baltimore, MD and in Tustin, CA.
She also worked in insurance for many years before finding her true calling as a kennel owner in Tennessee from 1995-2013. Boonewood Kennel became her passion and she developed a kinship with every single animal that walked through the doors. In 2013, she made the move to Conroe, TX to be closer to her daughter and family.
Nan is preceded in death by her parents Terry Owens and Thelma Hegenberger Owens. She is survived by her children: Elizabeth Hofmann and husband Matt Hofmann and Terry Bruner and wife Christine Bruner; grandchildren: John Hofmann, Will Hofmann, Kate Bruner, Anna Bruner, and Caroline Bruner; sisters: Donna Wylie and Tenny Poole; and nephews: TJ Wylie, Andrew Wylie, Ken Poole, and Don Poole.
A celebration of Nan's life will be planned in Bethesda, MD.
