Monte Dane Stutes

Monte Dane Stutes, born April 8, 1940, in Crowley, Louisiana, passed away in Alexandria, Louisiana on March 23, 2018. He was succeeded in death by his beloved wife, Marie Heinrich Stutes, and his parents, Elmer and Beatrice Stutes. He is survived by numerous cousins, and brother and sister-in laws. Monte was an LSU graduate and enjoyed watching LSU sports and rooting for the Tigers. Monte also served in the US army. He was an avid fan of vintage automobiles and spent many years restoring old cars and joining different car clubs over the years. He and Marie lived in Conroe, Texas and spent many weekends visiting car rallies and making numerous friends in the automotive community.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital and Matthews Nursing Home in Alexandria, Louisiana for their care for Monte during his time there.

Funeral services will be at Eickenhorst Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with services at 5:00 pm. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in High Hill, Texas on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:00 am with military honors. Father John Carville, a priest of the Diocese of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and friend of the family will preside at the services.
