Michelle Rae Knight (Garrison) (Cannon) passed away peacefully at home in Conroe, Texas, on October 28, 2026, at the beautiful age of 77. She is survived by her loving husband, Guy Knight; her children, Lisa and Ben Tanner, Michael Cannon, and Jennifer and Garth Brooks; and at least 15 grandchildren. Michelle was born on August 11, 1949, in San Gabriel, California, to Beverly Garrison and Gordon Vester.
She attended Davis Douglas High School in Portland, Oregon, and later attended nursing school. Throughout her working years, she worked as a nurse's aide and an orthodontic assistant, but her true passion was telemarketing. She loved talking on the phone and connecting with people.
Michelle loved to smile and had a zest for life. She was extremely supportive of the people she loved and cared deeply for her family and friends. A traditional lady at heart, she enjoyed sharing her healing remedies, favorite recipes, and, above all, a listening ear for those who needed one.
Michelle met her husband, Guy, online, and they were married in Utah in 2004. They were sealed in the Manti Temple in 2005. Together, they enjoyed traveling and exploring the world, visiting places such as Fiji, which was her absolute favorite. She especially loved traveling by train to the West Coast and throughout the country. They also shared a love of NASCAR and enjoyed attending races together all over the country. Family was at the heart of many of Michelle's favorite memories and traditions. She especially loved Thanksgiving and Christmas, with Christmas holding a particularly special place in her heart. One of her favorite traditions was having her husband dress up as Santa Claus and sharing the LDS story of Jesus Christ and the meaning of Christmas with the children and grandchildren. Of course, the celebration included lots of gifts whenever she could make it happen!
Michelle also had a love for Elvis Presley, who was her absolute favorite singer and celebrity. She enjoyed collecting special treasures, including TY Beanie Babies and Barbies. She found joy in the simple things that brought family together, like playing Canasta, creating crafts, making cards, cooking, and spending time with the people she loved. She was especially known for making her delicious homemade rolls, which were a favorite among family.
Michelle will be remembered for her smile, her zest for life, her generosity and support, and the traditions and memories she created with those she loved. She leaves behind a family who will carry those memories, recipes, traditions, and love with them for years to come.
