Michael Joe Curtis, age 62 was born on December 20, 1957 in Sherman, TX to Joe and Fleeta Curtis. Mike grew up with sister’s Cindy, Tammi, Candi and younger brother Jerry. He enjoyed country life outdoors riding horses, camping and fishing. In his early life, he enjoyed sports and time with friends and family. Mike was a Rodeo Cowboy riding saddle Broncos and loved the authentic cowboy heritage and life. Mike was also an extremely talented artist with amazing drawings. Mike loved to read and learn every detail of whatever he was interested in at the time.
Mike graduated from Brenham High school in 1976 and spent his professional career in land surveying up until his disability kept him from his work. Mike frequented different churches over the years.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Joe Curtis; brother, Randy Curtis; grandparents, Alfred and Agnes Curtis, Curtis and Juanita Smith; and brother-In-Law, Ron Gibson. Mike is survived by his spouse, Audrey Curtis; his daughter, Amanda “Mandy” Curtis; grandchildren, Keilah Curtis and Ulyssia Pleiss; mother, Fleeta Curtis; and his aunts and uncles, Kay Baker, Zula Curtis, Pattrich Smith and Leon Thiel.
The family asks for donations and contributions be made to The Montgomery County Animal Shelter in honor of Mike’s memory.
