Martha Alexandra Higbee

Martha Alexandra Higbee, age 54, passed away on April 8, 2012 in Porter, TX under hospice care after a brief illness. She was born on March 23, 1958 in Joliet, IL; the youngest of five children. She was an avid swimmer, loved music and was a member of the Girl Scouts. She attended Lockport East and Lockport Central High School, where she graduated in 1976 before attending Joliet Jr. College. She moved to Houston TX in 1981, where she worked for Atena Insurance and ChemTex, Inc. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Richard L. & Martha E. Higbee. She is survived by her siblings, Elizabeth Gordon and husband Ron, of Bloomington, IL; James Higbee and wife Rebecca, of St. Marys GA; Laura Allen and husband Marvin, of Douglasville, GA ; and Charles Higbee, of Houston TX, and her aunt, Francis Nelson, of San Marco, TX. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses @ Hospice Care in Porter, TX for their care to Martha during her final days. A memorial service will be held in Dougsville, GA. on June 9, 2012.
