Martha Lynn Gautreaux was born on October 4, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio, to Anna & Carl Thomas Groom. She passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024 in Conroe, Texas. Martha was raised in Houston, Texas by her parents and alongside her six siblings. She attended school and later pursued her passion in cosmetology and became a hairdresser for over fifty years. She built a successful business with her friends and was loved by all her clients, which became friends.
Martha was married to her beloved husband, Ronald Gautreaux, for twenty years and made their home in Montgomery, Texas to raise their family. Martha enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandkids, which she saw often. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Conroe where she often spent her time, whether it be attending church, volunteering, or Sunday School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Gautreaux; daughter, Tammy Lynn Young; parents, Anna & Carl Thomas Groom; brothers, Carl Thomas Groom, Jr. and Dickie Groom; sisters, Jackie McFarland Jones, JoAnn Dohner, Barbara Groom and Connie Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Melissa Crisp and husband Matthew; grandchildren, Austin Wardenburg and wife Savannah, Ashlyn Coulter and husband Nathan, Madison Crisp, Mason Crisp, Abby Crisp, Lily Kate Crisp; great grandson, Hoyt Wardenburg; brother, Gerald Groom and wife Delight, brother-in-law Wayne Gautreaux and wife Diane, numerous nieces and nephews.
