Marjorie Taylor Laird

October 23, 1926 — September 13, 2018

Marjorie Taylor Laird, 91 years old, passed away peacefully in her home of 42 years in Panorama Village, Conroe, Texas on September 13, 2018. She was born October 23, 1926 in Newellton, Louisiana to the late Lottie Daniel Taylor and James Mitchell Taylor.
Marjorie loved to fish, hunt, garden and travel. She enjoyed golfing and playing bridge as well. She and her husband, David, traveled through all of the lower forty-eight states, Canada and Alaska in their motorhome. They also made a trip to Hawaii, officially seeing all fifty states. She also cruised to many exciting destinations, including the Mediterranean and the British Isles.
Margie was wonderful at entertaining and planning parties, having a flair for decorating for each special occasion. Family and friends enjoyed her company because she was fun to be with. She loved to socialize and go to an occasional fashion show or luncheon. She was always on the go.
Margie belonged to the Ladies Association, was a Matron of the Eastern Star, was a greeter at First Methodist Conroe, and volunteered in the gift shop at Conroe Regional Hospital.
She is survived by her son, Mark E. Laird and wife, Bonnie S. Laird; their children Lacy Laird and David Laird, and his wife, Niki. She has one sister, Betty Jane Gosser of Summerset, Kentucky, whose children are Rick and wife Connie Gosser and daughter, Margie Jane Gosser. There are numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews on both sides of her family whom she adored.
Margie will be buried at Houston National Cemetery with her late husband.
