Maria Auxilidora Striplin, born on October 5, 1943, in Cotulla, Texas, peacefully passed away at the age of 81 on November 25, 2024, at home with her devoted husband, Robert B. Striplin by her side.
Maria was a passionate and driven woman who made a significant impact on her community. She owned and operated Creative Arts, a business where she not only sold a variety of merchandise but also dedicated herself to helping others in need. Maria’s generosity knew no bounds—she would collect items that could be used to help others, often reaching out to local businesses for donations and volunteering her time with organizations supporting less fortunate families.
Her spirit of giving extended to her work as an educator, where she earned the affectionate nickname "Teacher." Maria was deeply committed to teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), imparting wisdom and inspiration to all who crossed her path. With her infectious energy, lively personality, and playful charm, she brought joy to everyone around her. Whether climbing trees or inviting others to join her on the dance floor, Maria’s zest for life was boundless. Though she did not have children of her own, Maria embraced her nieces and nephews as her own, showering them with love and care.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Geronima and Genaro Garza.
Maria is survived by her husband Robert who she spent 35 wonderful years of marriage with, and together they shared a love for traveling and dancing, creating memories that lasted a lifetime. She was one of 13 siblings.
Maria’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her
