Maria "Nora" Flores

Maria “Nora” Flores, age 79, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017.
Nora was born in May 1937 to Pedro and Santos Vasquez in Falfurrias, Texas. Nora was the youngest of six children; fours sisters and one brother. Early in her life, Nora and her family were laborers and cotton pickers; a topic she was very proud to talk about. Nora married in November 1962 and had five children. She was a full-time mom, grandma, great grandma, and committed servant of the Lord. Nora was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years. She was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Guadalupanas organization, a Catholic Daughter, a Sunday School Teacher, and she dedicated many years serving others as a volunteer with the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Santos Vasquez; sisters, Maria Marroquin, Francis Hernandez and Alicia Zavala; and her brother, Jesus Vasquez. She is survived by her children: Juan Antonio Flores Sr., Sally Flores, Robert Flores, Michelle Flores, Anna Marie Medina, and Joshua James Henderson; daughters-in-law, Gloria Flores and Ashley Henderson; sons-in-law, Carlos Medina and Gerardo Alfaro; grandchildren: Priscella Flores, Juan Antonio Flores, Jr., Joey Gomez, Lindsey Gomez, Sidney Gomez, Maria Villeda, Micaela Villeda, Dario Villeda, Diego Villeda, Brittany Medina, and Andrew Medina; great grandchildren: Hunter Henderson, Connor Henderson, Kegan Henderson, Unqiue Gomez, Juan Carlos Ponce, Jorge Ponce, Adrian Ponce, and Richard Villeda; sister, Elia Medrano of Corpus Christi, Texas; and two brothers-in-law, Fidencio Hernandez and Gregorio Medrano. Nora is also survived by many loving nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 pm until 3 pm on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 N. Frazier at Wilson, Suite 115, Conroe, Texas 77301, where a 3 pm service will follow.
