Peck, of Huntsville, TX; a granddaughter, Margaret Peck of Dallas, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ms. Blaschke married in 1941, having attended two years of college at Western State Teachers College (now Western Michigan University) in Kalamazoo, MI. Her former husband, Lester E. Blaschke, of Ingleside, TX, was a 1940 engineering graduate of Texas A&M, completing a Kellogg Foundation Fellowship in Battle Creek, MI when they met. They settled in Orange, TX while he served in the U.S. Navy during WW II, then transferred to the officer corps of the U.S. Public Health Service. Over the next 20 years, the family lived in many places: Austin, New York City, Laredo, Corpus Christi, Burma (now Myanmar), Pueblo, CO, and Albuquerque, NM.
With children in high school and college, Ms. Blaschke pursued an educational sales career as a regional manager for Compton’s Pictured Encyclopedia. Her business ability and community/civic leadership were cited in the Progressive Businessmen’s section of the Albuquerque Journal in 1963. She followed her career to Dallas, Abilene, and nearby west Texas communities. Disabled by a highway accident in mid-career, she in recent years moved to Huntsville, Conroe, then back to Huntsville.
Her family appreciates family members near and far, community members, physicians and health-care professionals for their kindness, and professionalism in her last years.
