The Woodlands, Texas – Marcia Ellen Safar Watson, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away in her home on June 3, 2026, at the age of 72.
Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on August 2, 1953, to Milo Rudolph Safar and Janice Leigh Williams Safar, Marcia grew up in a proud military family. Because of her father’s service in the U.S. Army, she moved frequently during her childhood, experiencing many new places, including England, where her sister Laurie was born. When her family later settled in Georgia, she discovered a deep passion for horseback riding, spending hours outdoors and fostering a lifelong love for animals.
Marcia was previously married to Ronald Lamar Watson, with whom she shared her two daughters. Together, they lived in several different states over the years, including Alaska, Georgia, and Florida. Eventually, she made her way to The Woodlands, Texas, where she settled down and finally felt truly at home.
Deeply artistic, Marcia discovered a lifelong love for painting, a creative outlet that allowed her to capture beauty and express her unique perspective.
She is survived by her faithful daughters, Jessica Repman and her husband Mike, and Brittany McLaughlin and her husband Austin; her beloved grandchildren, Addison, Rylee, Molly, and Caleb; her devoted sister, Laurie Safar Jones Ragan; her treasured stepsisters, MaryLou Bailey-Funk and Carol Campbell; and a large circle of extended family and devoted friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Milo and Janice Safar; her adored stepmother, Ruth Safar; as well as her cherished canine companions who brought her so much joy over the years: Tessa, Nikki, Chloe, and Muffin.
A service to celebrate Marcia’s life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at The Woodlands First Baptist Church - South Campus in The Woodlands, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ASPCA in Marcia’s memory.
