MacGregor Armstrong Parr, II "Greg", age 92, returned to the loving arms of our Lord on January 20, 2018. Greg was born July 31, 1925 in Janesville, WI. When he was 8 years old, his family moved to Houston, Texas. His first job was being a paperboy in the River Oaks area of Houston.
Greg graduated from Lamar High School, then went on to study Geology at the University of Houston. He also served some time in the US Army. Being the life-driven person that he was, he owned and operated his own company, Parkerizing Plating Business, in Houston for over 25 years, then went on to open a small equipment rental business until his retirement. He always had a car to restore or project to work on. He also found great satisfaction, while retired, to build - from the ground up - the last three houses he lived in.
Throughout his many adventures, he was blessed to have his companion of 42 years, Dorothy Lee Parr, by his side. Their children, Peggy Breland and "Trip" Parr, were their greatest blessings. Even after Dorothy's passing, Greg was again blessed to find love, at 82 years young, with Pat Beckner. Greg was a cradle Episcopalian. He is survived by his daughter, Peggy, his granddaughters Cali Kreiger (David), Erin Breland (Jason Pate), grandson, Conner Breland (Rachel Cole) and great-granddaughters Maddie Kreiger and Brylee Grace Pate. Greg was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, and son, Trip.
