We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Lonnie. He was born in Houston, Texas to Shirley Lee Little and Zack “Bill” Wyrick on February 19, 1981. He grew up in Spring attending Smith Elementary, Twin Creeks Middle School, and Spring High School. Growing up, Lonnie loved playing outside, riding his bike, watching movies, reading, playing sports such as basketball, baseball, and football, and of course, playing video games.
At the young age of 17, Lonnie joined the US Army. He completed basic training in Fort Benning, GA where he received several awards for expert rifleman for a M-16 rifle, a 9 MM Beretta pistol, grenades, and mortars. After he completed his mortar training, he was assigned to the 3rd Armored Cavalry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado. His unit trained in Fort Polk, Louisiana prior to deploying to Camp McGovern in Bosnia. Once he returned from Bosnia, he relocated to Fort Hood, Texas. He received the following medals during his service: Army Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the NATO Medal.
He married Jessica Masid in 2001, and they were blessed with two beautiful children. His children were his pride and joy. Jazmine was born in November 2001 and Dylan was born in January 2003. He loved them so very much and loved being with them. Whenever he spoke about them, he always commented on their intelligence and talent.
After separating from the military, he settled down in Conroe, Texas. He got his bartender’s certificate and worked a few odd jobs before he started working for Spec’s Liquor. For approximately ten years, he enjoyed working for them in sales. Some of Lonnie’s favorite activities continued to be spending time with family and friends, reading, running, hanging out at the pool, watching movies, and playing video games. Lonnie was happiest living a quiet, peaceful life surrounded by his loved ones.
