Lizzie Belle Hulsey

November 7, 1921 — January 24, 2012

Lizzie Belle Hulsey, age 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 24, 2012 at home, surrounded by family. She was born on November 7, 1921 in Keller, TX and graduated from Newark High School. Liz led a varied professional career, working as a welder for Hughes Tool during World War II, raising her family as a homemaker, and serving as a nurse's aide for Conroe ISD until retiring at age 80. Liz found joy in square dancing, gardening, and painting. She loved to travel the world and followed a local choir on tour throughout Europe. Her gift was serving others, and she did so happily through her work, family, and community service. Liz built lifelong friendships as a member of the Montgomery County Friendship Center, and she was a faithful servant of New Bethlehem Baptist Church.Liz was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hulsey; parents, Robert and Lydia Moreland; brothers, Jack and Billy Moreland; and sisters, Maxine Cecil and Margie Hilliard. She is survived by her sister, Ozell Stutes and brother Burk Moreland; children, Wanda Drake, Weston Hulsey and wife Debbie; grandchildren, James Irwin and wife Kathy, Becky Coker and husband Buddy, Teresa Horton, Keith Drake and wife Susan, Ellissa Thomas and husband Spencer, Crystal Weeks and husband Jared, and Sheree Smith and husband Troy; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and numerous relatives and friends.Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Salter, William Salter, Christian Horton, John Irwin, Spencer Thomas, and Jered Weeks. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Coker, Wesley Stutes, Mike Stutes, David Stutes, Kenny Stutes, Mark Hilliard, Jeff Cecil, Denny Fisher, and Larry Moreland.The family wishes to thank the Friendship Center family, New Bethlehem Church family, and Odyssey House Hospice for their friendship and loving care of Liz.
