Linda Lowry Riley, age 81 died in her home in New Waverly, TX on October 25, 2021 with her loving husband and family by her side.
Linda was born January 18, 1940 in Huntsville, TX to William and Zella Lowry. Linda married the love of her life Roy Riley where they shared the love for family, hot rods and camping. They would take their daughters, attend rod runs, car shows around the state of Texas, and camping with family to the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico.
Linda and Roy retired to New Waverly, TX where they are members of First Baptist Church New Waverly for over 20 years. Linda served the Lord by volunteering, cooking and providing meals to the congregation. She was involved with the New Waverly Food Bank helping distribute food to the community. She loved reading, traveling and cooking where she is known to make the best chocolate pie.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Roy, three daughters; Monica Nelson (Larry), Janice Riley and Phyllis Caldwell (Buddy), 5 grandchildren; Brandy Weldon, Christopher Weldon, Michael Weldon, Stevie Caldwell and William Caldwell, 5 great grandchildren; Devon Walker, Natalyn Jordan, Jase Jordan, Ava Weldon and Adilyn Caldwell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Zella Lowry, her son James Franklin Riley and her brother William (Bill) Lowry.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church New Waverly 460 Fisher St. New Waverly, TX 77358 on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM with a visitation and luncheon immediately after the service at the church. A burial of her ashes will be held for immediate family members at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital to the Linda Riley Memorial.
