Laura Jane (Knight) Wiggins

May 31, 1942 — Jul 12, 2026

Laura Jane (Knight) Wiggins was born on May 31, 1942, in Mexia, Texas, and passed away on July 12, 2026, in Wigginsville, Texas.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Wiggins; her parents, Melvin and Katherin Knight; and her brother, Charles Knight.

She is survived by her sons, Chris Wiggins and wife Margie, Kerry Wiggins and wife Kristen, and John Wiggins and wife Maura; her grandchildren, Justin Wiggins and wife Marcy, Krista Scott and husband Caleb, Kensey Wiggins and fiancé James Cordero, Patrick Wiggins, Brendan Wiggins, and Mckella Wiggins; and her great-grandchildren, Kali Wiggins, Layla Wiggins, Waylon Wiggins, Luke Scott, Swayde Wiggins, Beya Wiggins, Ruthie Scott, and Anna Scott.

She is also survived by her brother, James Knight and wife Carolyn, and her sister-in-law, Wanda Wiggins, along with many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Laura was born in Mexia, Texas, and later moved with her family to Houston, Texas, where she graduated from Aldine High School in 1960. She married Marcus Wiggins on November 22, 1963, and the two shared fifty-nine years of marriage before his passing in 2023.

Over the years, Laura held several jobs, but she spent the majority of her career at Automatic LP Gas. After retiring, she and Marcus traveled throughout the United States in their camper, enjoying life on the road together. Eventually, they chose to return home to be close to their children and grandchildren.

Above all else, Laura was kind, generous, and an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. More than anything, she cherished time spent with her family. She loved to travel and see new places, and she had a gift for gardening, always keeping the most beautiful flowers.

Having grown up with two older brothers and then raised three sons of her own, Laura was tough — she never complained, even when something was wrong. She was a constant source of comfort, facing every challenge with effortless grace and composure. Laura was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Luke 23:43 And Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
