Kimberly Froyd was born on February 19, 1979, in Houston, TX. She was raised in Splendora and graduated from Splendora High School where she was active in sports. She made many life-long friends. Kim became a mother to three amazing children - Hailee, Donovan, and Ethan. Being a single parent was not easy. Though not actively looking for a life partner, Kim soon met Doug Gips, who lived just down the street. Together they formed a beautiful family. Kim and Doug would eventually move their family from Splendora to Montgomery TX. There, Kim did what she did best, and turned their new house into a new home. Anyone who knew Kim knew her passion for cooking. Whether she was preparing one of Granny’s signature dishes or making chicken wings on game day, Kim was eager to share her recipes with everyone and you were indeed special if you were the recipient of one of her dishes. One of Kim’s greatest gifts was her ability to make and keep friends. She loved to make late-night phone calls and took great pride in reaching out to anyone who she thought needed a friend. Kim had a beautiful smile, and her effervescent spirit was unforgettable. On October 23, 2022, Kim passed away peacefully in her home. She is survived by her Husband, Doug Gips; Children, Hailee Froyd, Donovan Harvey, and Ethan Harvey, Mother Virginia Beam-Hosford; Stepfather, Doug Hosford; Father; George Froyd; Stepmother Sonia Seay; Brother, Scooter Myers; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kim was greeted in death by her Grandmother Ruby Jewell Froyd.
