Kenneth Hole passed away suddenly in his home on January 23. Kenneth was born on September 3, 1941 to Winston and Marion Hole in Ypsilanti, MI. Kenny was diagnosed as intellectually disabled at a very young age. He attended the Lapeer State Home and Training School where he learned arithmetic and reading. He achieved independent living and supported himself by working in the Flint area at a variety of restaurants before taking a job with the state until his retirement at age 65. Kenny was extremely proud of his self-sufficiency and lived alone until his health declined to the point that he was forced to move into an assisted living facility.
After his brother relocated to Texas, Kenny moved to the area to be closer to his remaining family. He participated in a variety of activities at his new home including eating out, dances, Bible study and weekly trips to Walmart. Although he was a shy and private person, he was a favorite to those who got to know him. He kept up correspondence with old friends and his nieces and nephew and was eager to share pictures of them and their children with friends.
Kenny was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Connelly, and his father and stepmother, Winston and Doris Hole. He is survived by his brother Jim, his sister-in-law Mary, and their children Kevin, Katherine and Kelly. His sudden death has shocked and saddened us all.
