Kelly Lee Turner

July 13, 1964 — December 12, 2024

Kelly Lee Turner, known to many as Kells Bells or Leroy (a name he adopted when he didn’t want anyone to know his true identity), passed away on December 12, 2024, at Nae Nae's house in Montgomery, Texas.

Born on July 13, 1964, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, Kelly was the son of the late Bobby Turner and Charlotte Daniels. As a child, he was affectionately known as “Kelly Bug” (a nickname he didn’t care much for as an adult), and grew up in Alief, Texas. Kelly and his brothers spent their days on bikes, creating their own adventures and perfecting their “trick ridin’” skills around the city.

Kelly passion for wrenchin’ cars started when he was a young kid, he started on bicycles moving on to motorcycles then to cars, he was always working on some type of car. After attending Elsik High School, Kelly explored many careers—starting as an independent business operator before finding his calling as a commercial roofer. No matter what he was doing, Kelly was never far from a cold beer and his favorite rock music on the legendry KLOL radio station, music was his true love.

Kelly was a man of many talents, from any type of construction work to just tinkerin’ with things. He could do just about anything, but when it came to electricity, he knew better than to risk it—always calling on his trusted buddy, “Stretch,” to handle the electrical work.
Kelly was preceded in death by his father, Bobby “Pops” Turner; his mother, Charlotte Daniels; and his older brother, Robert Wayne Turner.

He is survived by his stepmother, stepsiblings, and all his “101 units,” who will miss him dearly. Kelly’s presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His wit, charm, and love for life, music, and family will be remembered fondly by all who were lucky enough to be part of his world.

We take comfort knowing that Kelly is now making faces at all of us and living it up just as he always did.

Rest in peace, Kell’s—you’ll never be forgotten.
