Karen Lee Peden, 73, of Gumbranch, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on August 11, 1951, in Ravenna, Ohio, Karen later made her home in Gumbranch, Georgia, where she built a life filled with love, creativity, and faith. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, GW Peden Jr., in 2021. She is survived by her children, Laura Lee Peden and Trey Givens McIntyre, and her cherished grandchildren, Georgia and Landon McIntyre. She also leaves behind her four siblings, Penny Erwin, Ralph Leggett, Avery Leggett, and Sally Valot.
Throughout her life, Karen took on many roles with determination and grace. Among her various jobs, she worked in an antique store, contributed her skills to a construction company, delivered the mail, and even pursued her entrepreneurial spirit by owning a painting and craft supply store. A gifted artist, she found joy in painting home decor in the Americana style and was a master quilter. An avid reader, she especially loved mysteries and thrillers. No matter the challenge, Karen was the kind of person who always found a way to solve it, embodying resilience and ingenuity in all she did.
Karen also had an adventurous spirit and a deep love of travel. She explored the world with curiosity and appreciation, visiting 21 countries including Scotland, Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, and Canada. These journeys brought her great joy, broadening her experiences and deepening her love for the beauty and history.
Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life, and she often credited her successes to her unwavering belief in God. Her kindness, creativity, and steadfast spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life will be held at Crossroads Holy Church of God in Hinesville, Georgia, at 11am on March 15, 2025 at Crossroads Holy Church of God.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Crossroads Holy Church of God.
